Celebrate, Locate, Engage, Understand and Connect with farmers who are practicing the different agro-ecological variants of farming since minimum four seasons.
We recognise and honour these Champions because they inspire and strengthen our collective movement of mainstreaming natural farming, becoming key levers of change thus making this vision a reality.
It is unanimously understood amongst us that a farmer learns and adopts new and unconventional practices more naturally when a fellow farmer shares their story. Hence we believe identifying and sharing these stories could be key in motivating many more to adopt agroecology based farming. Also, they are central to capacity building programmes and can potentially be master farmers.
A collection of 75 champion farmers stories from across India
Stories of farmers who have demonstrated over many generations their ability to provide healthy nutrition and maintain intact ecosystems. Teaching us the magic of producing food, fodder and fibre while emulating and working with the nature. Lighthouse for many, this book is a collection of inspiring stories, facilitated by the NF Coalition partners who were trained on documentation by Travellers University. Published by Bhoomi ka and National Coalition for Natural Farming with support from EU Switch Asia Program, Welthungerhilfe and IGSSS. These stories remind us that the smallholder farmers, who represent a large portion of our population, have been major contributors to the country’s well-being, resilience, and sovereignty.
We realise that these are just a few and that there are many more; we welcome more of these stories to be featured in this page. Write to us at firstname.lastname@example.org to for more details.
