The Human Development

The Human Development is a voluntary organization committed to self sustaining, people centred, culturally sensitive and ecologically balanced development of the poor and the underprivileged in the state of Orissa. The organisation strongly believes that change is a dynamic process, and so, it adheres to a dynamic work culture. Our efforts take a right-based approach, to ensure justice and fulfilment of rights of the poor and deprived sections of society. Besides, working for overall socio-economic uplift of the latter, their food security, sustainable livelihoods and basic health services are among the top commitments of THD. Motivated by a spirit of voluntarism and Gandhian ideology, THD was founded by a group of socially committed youths under the leadership and inspiration of Mr. Manas Ranjan, a well-known RTI activist of Kalahandi district. THD was registered as a legal entity in the year 2006 under Society Registration Act. From being a grass root level organization, doing sporadic welfare activities in Dharamgarh, Koksara, Block of Kalahandi, THD over the years, has been able to mature itself into a professional organization having gained phenomenal growth in its geographical spread and programme activities with well-defined vision, mission and goal based on the organization’s ideological moorings of people centric and inclusive development process.
